Crafted by the renowned design duo of Mike Clayton and Mike DeVries, 7 Mile Beach embraces the natural contours of the land, weaving through towering dunes and offering stunning, ever-present vistas of Tiger Head Bay and the broader coastline. The course is a true links layout, characterized by its firm and fast fescue fairways, strategic bunkering, and subtly challenging green complexes that demand creativity and precision from players of all abilities.
The design philosophy at 7 Mile Beach is one of "discovered" rather than "constructed," with a deep respect for the natural environment. The result is a course that feels both timeless and exhilarating, offering a pure and unforgettable golfing adventure. With a commitment to being open to the public, 7 Mile Beach provides a rare opportunity to experience golf in its most authentic form, where the challenge and the beauty of the landscape are in perfect harmony.
As part of your tour, you will have the unique opportunity to be among the first to trace the footsteps of golfing purists on this incredible new addition to Tasmania's roster of elite courses. Whether you are a seasoned golfer seeking a new challenge or a passionate enthusiast eager to experience the latest in world-class course design, a round at 7 Mile Beach promises a memorable and awe-inspiring day on the links.
Tasmania Golf Club
Designed by Al Howard, the par-72 layout is a true test of golf that rewards strategic thinking and accuracy. The course winds its way through native bushland, with tree-lined fairways and well-placed bunkers demanding precision from the tee. The large, undulating greens are known for their true roll but will challenge your putting skills with their subtle slopes.
The signature hole, the par-5 3rd, is an unforgettable experience, often compared to the iconic 18th at Pebble Beach. The fairway dramatically follows the curve of the bay, offering a thrilling risk-reward opportunity for long hitters and a scenic journey for all.

Royal Hobart Golf Club
The Royal Hobart Golf Club, a premier destination situated at Seven Mile Beach near the Hobart Airport, is steeped in history and prestige, dating its origins back to 1901. The club earned its "Royal" distinction in 1925 and settled on its current sand-based site in 1963 with a layout designed by Vern Morcom. This 18-hole championship course is renowned for its immaculate year-round condition, tight, tree-lined fairways, and over 80 strategically placed bunkers that demand precision. Its championship pedigree is undeniable, having hosted major tournaments including the 1971 Australian Open, famously won by Jack Nicklaus. Long considered Tasmania’s finest members' club, Royal Hobart offers a challenging and pure golfing experience on a course that has tested, and been mastered by, some of the sport’s greats.

Inclusions
Exclusions
Pack Layers for "Four Seasons in One Day": Tasmanian weather in May can be highly variable. Even if sunny, it can get chilly, especially on the course or near the water. Pack warm base layers, sweaters, a waterproof jacket, and even a beanie/gloves for early mornings.
Golf Rain Gear is Essential: Don't just pack for sunny golf. A good waterproof and windproof golf jacket and trousers are a must to ensure you can play comfortably even if the weather turns.
Comfortable Walking Shoes: While transfers are provided for golf, you'll want comfortable shoes for exploring Hobart's charming streets, Salamanca Market, or the waterfront when you have free time.
Sun Protection (Even on Cloudy Days): The Australian sun can be deceptive. Pack sunscreen, a hat (for golf and sightseeing), and sunglasses. UV rays can be strong even when it's overcast.
Chargers & Adapters: Don't forget all your device chargers. If you're coming from outside Australia, ensure you have the correct Type I power adapter (Australia uses 230V, 50Hz).
Leave Space in Your Luggage: Hobart has fantastic local produce, artisan crafts, and wines. You might want to pick up some souvenirs or treats, so leave a little room!
Book Optional Activities in Advance: If there's something specific you want to do during your free time (like a MONA visit, a Port Arthur tour, or a specific restaurant), book it ahead, especially for weekend evenings.
Stay Hydrated: Even when it's cool, walking 18 holes requires good hydration. Carry a reusable water bottle for the course and your hotel room.
Inform Your Bank/Credit Card Provider: If you're travelling internationally, let your bank know your travel dates to avoid any issues with card transactions.
Embrace the Local Cuisine: Don't miss out on Hobart's incredible food scene. Sample fresh seafood, local cheeses, Tasmanian wines, and craft beers. Your welcome dinner is a start, but explore other options too!
